For the young at heart.
When you were little, you probably had a treasure box of sorts to keep the cool odds-and-ends you came across. Like that silky ribbon grandma tied on your birthday present or that sparkly gem you stole from art class. While those knick-knacks are mostly valueless, they narrate a particular essence of your past, present and future self.
In Motoguo’s SS21 collection, it’s as if co-creative directors Moto Guo and Kinder Eng unboxed those childhood mementos to decorate their pastel-colored creations and define the Motoguo girl. Specifically, a mix of bows, brooches and buttons enrich gingham and knit skirt suits. There is even a playfully random bunch of grapes decorating cable-knit co-ords for the extra cooky. While certain pieces like the flower-printed bike shorts could easily fit in your childhood wardrobe, others like the puffy-sleeved blouses just evoke that kid inside. Presented in a video of a sweet feast at the Lelecha bubble tea cafe in Shanghai, it’s completely irresistible fun.
